A Spa-like Office Renovation with “Wow” Factor
The owner of this Minnetonka, Minnesota project is a self-made, powerhouse of a woman entrepreneur that has carved her path to success by doing things HER way. So, when it came time to establish a branded space for her business, the typical commercial office suite wouldn’t do.
Enter the residential and “lodge-like” building that was as unique as the business owner herself. The owner recognized that to make her clients feel comfortable discussing their personal agendas, things had to start by creating a sustainable office designed environment that embodied a certain ease; a challenge that PureAlchemy is happy to deliver.
The owner wanted a “WOW” appeal upon entering the building. For the desired grand experience, a unique office design was required to make a big impact in the small space. As a structure that had been built in a more residential style, open-office areas to receive clients was limited.
We were able to employ several space broadening techniques such as:
Reflective tile accents were installed to enhance the sense of space and add drama.
Interior windows were added for energizing daylight throughout.
A luxurious little coffee bar was added by “borrowing” square footage from the adjacent conference space.
Using unusual niches for necessary storage space
A Special Challenge – The Owner’s Office
The remodel of the owner’s office was also a challenge with its unique configuration and character. By introducing a fresh color palette and professional ergonomic office furnishings, an elegantly feminine CEO’s office was created.
The owner wanted an event space to hold casual client gatherings as well as a fitness space however the lower level had a very small and tricky footprint. Innovative flow and space planning resulted in a visually expansive and highly functional space. Now the lower level functions not only as an employee gathering space but also as a collaborative space for group discussions and client entertaining.
Along with aiming for that elevated design nuance, a level of budget restraint was underscored. Investments made in the space today needed to last well into the future of the building and business. Sustainable products and finishes, that will easily outlast their return on investment, were selected whenever feasible for a long lasting and easy to maintain result.
We always seem to find inspiration working with the owners of our projects and this time was no exception. To meet and get to know the personalities behind a successful enterprise is a true privilege and to help bring that energy to life in a space is what we love to do!
I am actually in disbelief that this amazing space she remodeled is where I get to spend my days helping others with their money.
I trusted my gut in hiring her (in my wise old age I now listen to my gut) and am so glad I did. We nailed it.
We are a financial services company, right? But Stephany understood my vision. I wanted a place that felt like a spa, but was professional, calming and a place that men and women could come and have help investing and get a financial plan.
