Space Type

Corporate office — creative commercial workspace for a printing company

Scope

Full transformation of a 1980s office building into a brand-driven environment for a newly formed printing company — weaving bold color, commissioned art, and the energy of the creative process into every surface.

THE SPACE BEFORE

The owners had closed their previous business and formed a completely new entity — new name, new brand, new energy. But the building they were working in was still an unremarkable 1980s office shell. Nothing about the space reflected the vibrant, technically savvy company they’d become. The brand had transformed. The environment hadn’t.

THE DESIGN DIRECTION

SeaChange needed a space that made people feel the brand the moment they walked in. Not just see a logo — feel the creative energy, the boldness, the agility. The palette had to be as confident as the work they produce: teal and magenta punctuating a sophisticated canvas of white and platinum grey. Every room needed to tell the story of a company that isn’t afraid of color or reinvention.

WHAT WE WORKED WITH (AND AROUND)

Turning a dated shell into a brand statement.

The 1980s bones were functional but forgettable. We started in reception — white tile floors, a clean-lined desk, and a raised brushed metallic logo mounted against light grey. The back wall carries the same white tile accented with digital glass lines running between them, setting the tone before anyone reaches the rest of the office.

Making the creative process visible.

For a printing company, the work itself is inherently visual. We commissioned avant-garde photography of the creative process and placed it where visitors catch glimpses of what happens deeper in the building. It pulls people forward through the space with curiosity, not signage.

Color as brand language, not decoration.

Teal and magenta appear in fabric, wall accents, countertops, murals, and custom handmade glass tile. The boldness is the point — it illustrates the creative agility that defines how SeaChange works. A large mural in the office area was created by enlarging an actual print proof, something the team works with every day. That same graphic repeats unexpectedly on ceiling tiles, carrying the brand into places you don’t expect to find it.

Opening up what was closed off.

In the break room, existing walls came down to create an open concept with comfortable booth seating for casual meetings. The conference room was designed to maximize natural light, with built-in display shelving for products and samples that turn client meetings into hands-on brand experiences.

THE OUTCOME

Walk through SeaChange’s office and you understand the company before anyone says a word. The space builds in layers — from the restrained elegance of reception, through the richly colored lounge, to the full creative energy of the office areas. It’s a progression that mirrors how the company works: sophisticated at the front, bold and uninhibited where the ideas happen.

For a company born from reinvention, the space proves the transformation is real. It’s not a printing company that happens to have a nice office — it’s a creative business whose environment is inseparable from its brand.
